The ancient image of an Ouroboros is a snake or dragon eating its own tail. The snake is in a process of eternally re-creating itself, making it a symbol of the cyclical nature of things. Since ancient Egypt the image has emerged in a variety of cultures, including the snake Jormungand in Viking mythology. In both cultures this snake represented the primal chaos that surrounded the organised world.
Wearing iron jewellery
Iron, by its very nature is not permanent, but with care it can last for a lifetime.
Our heat coloured and brass brushed pendants have at least two layers of a clear metal sealer.
Wearing the pendant will, with time, wear the surface and colour off. This is why we offer a refurbishment guarantee on all our pendants.
For the cost of shipping we can restore the pendant to look as new for as long as we are working as blacksmiths.
I include more detailed care instructions with the pendant.
